Owner Tips

Tire pressure setting

For Gogoro 1 Series, we recommend up to 34 PSI for the front tire and 38 PSI for the rear.
For Gogoro 2 Series, we recommend up to 33 PSI for the front tire and 40 PSI for the rear.

It's very important to regularly check your tire pressure to ensure your Smartscooter™ meets these levels, as less inflated tires will encounter more friction and will achieve much worse energy efficiency (i.e., your riding range will decrease by quite a bit). This is particularly important during colder conditions, when the tire pressure drops as the temperature goes down.

Low temperature protection

When batteries are in a low temperature environment with a low battery level, in order to protect your batteries, we will display the System Temperature Warning symbol on your dashboard, activate Low Temperature Protection Mode, and will automatically reduce the power output of your Gogoro. Over time and with riding, your battery temperature will begin to warm up and restore full power. If you need a quick fix, please exchange your batteries at a nearby GoStation® immediately. Once Low Temperature Protection Mode is deactivated, the system will revert to normal status so that you can continue riding. In the unlikely event that the situation is not solved after exchanging batteries, please contact the Gogoro Service Center at 0800-365-996 for further assistance.

Fall down protection

For your safety, we automatically shut down your Gogoro Smartscooter™ when you dropped your vehicle. Simply open the trunk, remove both batteries, and reinsert them to reset your Gogoro Smartscooter™.

Overheating protection mode

Under extreme circumstances, such as riding at high speed for a long time, or climbing up hills continuously, there is a possibility that the temperature of the batteries will rise. When the batteries overheat, in order to protect the battery function and lifespan, the Overheat Protection Mode will be activated, and the System Overheat Warning symbol on the dashboard will light up. During Overheat Protection Mode, the system reduces power output automatically. If the temperature keeps rising even after power output reduction, the system will force the motor to shut down. Therefore, when the System Overheat Warning symbol turns on, please exchange your batteries at a nearby GoStation® immediately. The system will revert to normal status and you can continue riding. In case the situation is not solved after exchanging batteries, please contact the Gogoro Service Center for assistance. Phone number: 0800-365-996.

Keep your Smart Key or standard key with you

Just like any set of keys, please make sure you always have your iQ System™ Smart Key or standard key with you when you ride, and make sure that you don't accidentally lock it in your trunk. For models that support keyless entry, ensuring that the Gogoro application is up-to-date and logged-in on your phone is also a good backup plan.

Long-term parking

Before parking your Gogoro Smartscooter™ for more than 30 days, we recommend swapping your batteries for a fully charged pair. This will help to ensure that your Gogoro is ready to ride when you are.

Smart Climbing Mode

When the Smartscooter™ is climbing uphill under heavy load, the system might automatically activate Smart Climbing Mode, and the icon on the dashboard will start blinking regardless of the Smart Mode status. When the Smart Climbing Mode is activated, in older versions of iQ System the motor output will automatically reduce. The climbing will be smoother and energy use more efficient, resulting in extended climbing mileage and reduced frequency of battery swapping.

What is Smart Mode?

When Smart Mode is ON:

The Smartscooter™ optimizes power output for a more intuitive and efficient traveling experience. The regenerative braking function dynamically adjusts power recovery rates depending on your current battery levels. The headlight is set to full brightness in motion when activated, and after 30 seconds of complete standstill, the headlight is gradually dimmed to low brightness. As the scooter takes off, the headlight is gently lit up to full brightness.

When Smart Mode OFF:

The Smartscooter™ delivers a uniform power output curve. While your App setting decides the basic power regeneration rates, the current battery level is also taken into account. Headlight brightness is the same when at standstill as it is in motion.

What is the difference between Super Boost Mode and Sport Activation?

Super Boost Mode:
The Super Boost Mode increases power output for instant takeoff and higher speed.

Press the Super Boost mode button on the right handle to activate.

The Super Boost mode symbol displays on the dashboard to indicate activation. Press the Super Boost Mode button again to deactivate.

If Smart Mode is already activated, a three-second long press on Super Boost Mode button deactivates Smart Mode and simultaneously activates Super Boost Mode.

Sport Activation:
With Sport Activation, your Smartscooter™ is able to reach Gogoro's highest possible power output curve for each given model.

The dashboard icon up when the Smartscooter™ is set to Sport Activation Tariff Plan (premium upgrade).

To enabled Sport Activation, please consult the service center or sales staff, or open the Gogoro® App, select My Profile, tap My Plan, and tap to enable Sports Activation.
